In 2008, the University embarked on a new and ambitious strategic direction of becoming more employer focused and improving its reputation as The University of excellent academic and professional achievements. Staying in-line with this strategy, over the years, we have made numerous commendable achievements: No 56 in the Times Good University Guide in 2018, and in the 58 position in the Guardian League table with the biggest rise for a university in 2018. The University was awarded Silver status in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF). Adding more to our numerous accolades, the National Student Survey results, 2016, recognises the UWL as the No 01 University in London for student satisfaction. We have also achieved the status of the Best University in London for satisfaction with the Students’ Union, best annual increase in Overall Satisfaction among London Universities, best in the UK for overall satisfaction in Civil Engineering courses, best in the UK for overall satisfaction in Building courses and Nine of our courses have 100% for overall satisfaction.
Previously, we have won one of the Queen's Anniversary Prizes for our work in hospitality; our Law School was rated the best in England; and we are also the Best Modern University for Graduate Employment - with at least 97% of our graduates in employment within six months of graduating. We continue to attract a high number of applications for our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in numerous disciplines
We are now determined to build on these successes and ensure that at the global centre of West London, we become one of the leading modern Universities in the UK specialising in the education and development of creative, business and service professionals.
