America is the world’s No. 1 destination for International Students. Students from all around the world, including Sri Lanka, have identified America as a preferred study destination. Why – because the facts are clear.

In addition to a fantastic student lifestyle and unmatched education excellence, America is known as “the Land of Opportunity”. America tops the list in Nobel Prizes and is the world’s largest economy. According to The Economist’s Pocket World in Figures, it is No. 1 in Manufacturing Output, No. 1 in Global Competitiveness, No. 1 for Industrial Output, No. 1 for Innovation, No. 1 in Space Vehicle Launches, and is a world leader in resident patents issued and general research and development. This success is due in no small part to the American education system – a system chosen by nearly 1 million international students last year. America simply offers graduates better opportunities and the means to achieve those opportunities.

America is a land of opportunity, a country that leads the world economy. America offers graduates tremendous opportunities in every career field, both in the US and internationally. According to the most recent statistics, America leads the world with 139 of the world’s Fortune 500 Global Companies – that’s nearly 30%. Japan is No. 2 with 71, and China is No. 3 with 46. More top international companies means more and better opportunities wherever a graduate may want to work or whatever they may want to do.

The potential for career and financial success is truly tremendous in America. American graduates have the opportunity to become part of a global empire in terms of industry and entrepreneurship.

The American lifestyle is the most emulated lifestyle among global trendsetters. American images dominate the world in all areas from medicine, engineering, and entertainment to technology, fashion, and business. Names like Coca Cola, INTEL, Boeing, Citigroup, Apple, Microsoft, Ford, are part of an endless that dominate the world economy. Icons like MTV, Wall Street, Hollywood, Silicon Valley, and countless more are recognized the world over.
This global success story can be largely attributed to the unique and distinctive methodology of the American Education System. American Degrees are recognized worldwide. America is the top destination for international students from all around the world. Over 600,000 international students studied in the US last year and the number grow annually. America has world’s finest universities including 13 universities in the World Top 20 universities list (Newsweek 2009). The programs are designed so that students develop a range of valuable skills - verbal, written and reasoning skills – in the context of career-focused education in the their chosen field. Other factors that contribute to the success of the American education system include a career focused approach, flexibility, a wide range of majors (the term used to identify the student’s chosen area of study), the practice of continual assessment rather than just a focus on exams, the variation in location and college life, and the variability of internship, research and employment opportunities. There is no doubt that the American education system, including the opportunities it offers to graduates, is superior to all others.
