In addition to your ISA, an Academic Adviser will be assigned to you to help you pick your credit courses wisely. As an international student, you will be required to have a health insurance coverage while in the USA. The health insurance policies can vary – and your university will inform you about the health insurance requirements and suggest you how to obtain your health insurance either through the university’s policy or by purchasing your own policy that meets the university’s requirements. Your international student adviser can explain you and help you decide the best policy for you.
Most US universities facilitate freshmen to live on campus accommodations, allowing students to experience university life to the fullest by sharing your dormitory or apartment with US students or students from a different part of the world, encouraging you to mingle with a diverse student body. As you may already know, the coolest and most successful start-ups in the world from Google and Microsoft to Dropbox and Snapchat, also breathed into life in dorm rooms of some of the finest US universities.
US universities offer a variety of student activities with students’ organizations, societies and clubs to suit everyone’s interest, creating students a very good platform to meet and build their campus network. In your university, you may find student-run radio and TV stations, newspapers, sports teams, and various social clubs that are looking for new members. US universities usually have an international society too. Most campuses have Student Activities Office that can tell you what is happening on campus.
