SAT
(Scholastic Assessment Test - formerly the Scholastic Aptitude Test)
The SAT is a standardized, multiple-choice test used by most US colleges and universities for admissions and placement decisions. The test is administered by the Educational Testing Service (ETS). SAT consists of mathematical reasoning and comprehension sections. Each section is scored on a scale of 200 - 800.
At ANC, SAT is a compulsory program that must be taken before a student moves into his/her sophomore year in college. Their access to top universities in the US is dependant upon a high SAT score, although the required score varies from school to school. SAT results can also influence financial aid awards.
